The whole "liking the shower thing" appears to have been a one-time thing. He's back to plastering his wings to his side and not moving.

I remember the first time my cockatoo took a shower with me, she didn't care for them either. It was actually at a hotel of all places and she just happened to want to sit on one of the railings they provided in the shower so I let her and the next thing I knew - she was 5 times the size and loving every minute of the water spraying her off my back! Now she loves showers and I have tons of shower perches just for her. It's a great feeling to know how comfortable you make your bird feel.
